Lina Yanni Obituary

Lina Yanni died peacefully at her home on September 25, 2015 surrounded by her family. Lina Yanni was born in Paola, Italy on September 1, 1942. In 1958 she married her husband Dominic Yanni who predeceased her in 1986. She is survived by her children, Toni Yanni and Roseanne Yanni. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Dominic Febbo, Lisa Bonaviso, John Febbo, Francesca Bonaviso and Sophia Febbo whom she adored and lived for. Her grandchildren enjoyed the many times they went out to dinner where "ONLY THE GRANDCHILDREN WERE INVITED" Lina was an accomplished wife, mother, grandmother and cook. She cooked for anyone who asked or didn't ask. She sent many platters of food to the Universities that her grandchildren attend. She wanted everyone to be fed. Sunday dinners were mandatory at Nana's. People would ask her for a special dish and she would make it for them with all of her heart. She loved being in the kitchen. She was loving, strong, thoughtful, generous, caring and very funny. She battled cancer with grace, unimaginable strength and dignity. She will be missed by her many family members and friends.
