Thomas Michael Kelly Obituary

Michael Kelly (September 19, 1926 - July 7, 2017) Thomas Stanislaus Michael Kelly was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1926. This is because his father had tuberculosis and was sent from Liverpool to the high alps as a treatment. At the age of 3, my Dad moved back to Liverpool and grew up there. Michael had taken a job in Derby, about 30 miles south of Liverpool, and it was in the engineering drawing office at Rolls Royce that he met the wonderful woman who was to become his wife. They moved to Manchester, where Mike got into industrial paint sales with ICI, a large chemical manufacturer and then to Leeds in Yorkshire and lived there happily for almost 40 years. Always devout churchgoers, he and Vicky sang in the church choir and participated in amateur dramatic productions. After retiring Mike worked on many charitable endeavors, supporting the church, exploring the burgeoning ecumenical movement and working with the local mental health authority as a patient advocate. He was fond of hospital visiting, something he continued after moving to Mount Kisco. He was deeply appreciative of the love of his family, his children and grandchildren and all the wonderful care he has had in hospital and at the King Street Nursing Home. Michael Kelly was an optimistic and humble person, with a robust spiritual life. He was friendly to everyone and always ready to share his experience of life as a blessing, to be cherished. Mass of Christian Burial St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church Tuesday, July 11, 2017 10:00 AM 2 Green Street Mount Kisco, NY 10549
