Carole Ann Genussa Obituary

Carole Ann Genussa died peacefully at the Danbury Regional Hospice in Connecticut at midnight on October 8 following the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosarya special consolation in light of her devotion to the Mother of Our Lord. Carole was born in Mount Kisco, NY, on February 19, 1934, to Dominick and Helen Calabrese. A lifelong resident of the area, Carole was crowned "Miss Mount Kisco" and lived from 1958 until the final year of her life in the Bedford home that she and her husband Philip built. After raising her two children, Kim and Philip Jr., Carole returned to school, earning her bachelors degree in psychology at Pace University and her masters degree in education at the College of New Rochelle, both summa cum laude. She went on to work with troubled youth at the Pleasantville Cottage School for thirty years and, over the course of six decades, volunteered countless hours to support her beloved St. Patricks parish. Carole loved to travel, visiting some of the farthest flung parts of the world, but she most enjoyed entertaining and serving her family and friends over resplendent dinner parties in her home. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her son Philip (Geralyn) Genussa of Brewster, her grandsons Michael (Alissa) Knowles of Nashville and Andrew Genussa of Endicott, her granddaughter Lee Ann Genussa of Bedford Hills, her great-grandsons Simon and Theodore, and her niece Diane (Robert) Call of Fort Myers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, at St. Patricks Church in Bedford Village followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Mount Kisco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Regional Hospice of Danbury 30 Milestone Road Danbury, CT 06810 Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, October 12, 2022 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM St. Patrick's R.C.
