E.Suzanne White passed peacefully at her home on June 11, 2017. She was 89 years of age. Sue was born in Philadelphia on December 21, 1927 to Irene P. Manning and James A. Bergan. She grew up in Philadelphia, graduated from Cecilian Academy, and attended Drexel University. Sue was married to John Oliver White, Jr. for 55 years - forever her One and Only. John passed in 2004. Sue is survived by five children: John O. White III (Maureen) St. Louis MO, Linda White Tartaglia (Daniel) of Rye Brook NY, Susan Morrissey - New York City, Kathleen Lyness (Matthew) Bedford Corners NY, and Christine Dorr (Robert) Virginia Beach VA. 12 grandchildren: Maura Rosengren (Peter), Lauren Guivas (Hector), Colleen B. White, Catherine Parker (Jared), Christine W. Tartaglia, John O. White IV (Kathryn), Sean Lyness, Patrick Morrissey (Marina), James Lyness, David Lyness, Matthew Dorr and Suzanne Dorr. 6 greatgrandchildren: Gavin, Charles and Grant Rosengren, John O. White V, Shea Parker and Roman Guivas. Sue was predeceased by her husband John, two sons, and son-in-law Kevin Morrissey. Sue was an active volunteer in her children's schools, with Meals-On-Wheels, and the four parishes her family attended. Sue was a swimmer, always active and fit, loving the ocean and the beach and simply being outside. Sue loved all dogs, was a wonderful cook, and voracious reader. She and John traveled for business and pleasure throughout the US, Mexico, and Europe. Sue was courageous. At age 78, she moved from the Philadelphia area to this community of Mount Kisco and started a new life. Always a mother to many, making everyone feel comfortable and accepted for who they were - no judgements. She will be remembered always for her quick smile, light blue eyes, patience, her love of her family and her large circle of friends. Sue modeled kindness and inclusiveness; welcoming everyone into her home. She was thoughtful and kind, empathetic and keenly perceptive. A casually elegant and strong lady, known for remaining calm while at the center of her love-filled family of seven. A Memorial Mass for Suzanne will take place on Wednesday June 21, 2017 10:00am @ St. Patrick's RC Church Seven Pound Ridge Bedford Village, NY The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Suzanne's memory be made to United Way of Westchester and Putnam 336 Central Park Avenue White Plains, NY 10606 Memorial Mass St. Patrick's RC. Church Wednesday, June 21, 2017 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Seven Pound Ridge Road Bedford, Village,, NY 10506 Interment Private
