Maureen Murphy Attaguile Obituary

Maureen Ann Murphy Attaguile

Somers - Maureen of Somers, NY, died on December 13th while under hospice care in Danbury, CT. She was 73. She struggled briefly with advanced stage cancer, and passed peacefully, surrounded by her immediate family.

Maureen, a lifelong resident of Mount Kisco, NY, moved to Heritage Hills 3 years ago, where she and Paul promptly settled in and made many new friends. Maureen enjoyed a unique kind of upbringing, attributed to her living in close proximity to her loving (and extensive) extended family in the Kisco Park neighborhood in New Castle. She graduated from Horace Greeley High School in 1962, the graduated from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT in 1964. She began her career as a textile buyer for Macy's New York and White Plains, before welcoming her 2 daughters, Eileen and Amanda. Maureen loved raising her family in Mount Kisco, and was very active in her community, fostering many dear friendships throughout her lifetime there. She worked as a bookkeeper for several local small businesses, all benefiting from her friendly disposition and great talent as an organizer. Her most recent and cherished role was as Nana to her three grandchildren, or "grands" as she so lovingly referred to them.

In all areas of her life, Maureen's kindness, generosity, and sense of humor deeply touched the lives of all she met. Maureen is survived by her husband, Paul, her children Eileen Riordan [Timothy], Amanda Alfieri [Darrell], her 3 beloved grandchildren: Sean and Kate (Riordan) and Vincent (Alfieri), siblings Thomas P. Murphy Jr. and Michael Murphy [Barbara], and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be held at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco on Friday, January 4th, from 4-8 pm.
