Robert E. Paul

Robert E. Paul ("Bob") of Thornwood, NY and Bedford, NY died at the age of 85 on November 18, 2017. He was born in Astoria NY and raised in Rockaway Beach, NY. Bob graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1950, and went on to graduate from Columbia College, NY in 1954. In 1957 Bob received his law degree from Yale Law School. After a stint at United States Trust Company Bob became Special Advisor for Housing and Urban Renewal to NYC Mayor Robert Wagner Jr. where he coordinated and reorganized the NYC housing and urban renewal agencies. Bob also spent 8 years in the United States Army Reserves following law school. By 1963 Bob was working with the Archdiocese of New York where he created and directed the Housing Office for the next 40 years. While at the Archdiocese, Bob oversaw the development of over 4,000 affordable and senior apartments sponsored by the Archdiocese and funded through various Federal, New York State and New York City housing programs. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathleen, two sons Robert and Andrew, daughter Alison, and seven grandchildren: Meaghan, Andrew, William, Kathleen, Joseph, Susan and Jennifer.
