Jones, Dr. Vann K.

Vann Kinckle Jones, 76, of Chappaqua, NY, died on October 27, 2017. Dr. Jones was born in Flushing, NY, and was the grandson of the late Eugene Kinckle Jones, the first Executive Secretary of the National Urban League, and a founding member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Dr. Jones practiced internal medicine in Brooklyn, NY for over 35 years. He was a graduate of the Northfield Mount Hermon School, Cornell University, where he was awarded All-Americans Lacrosse in 1962, and the Howard University College of Medicine, with honors.. He served as a major at Langley Air Force Base Regional Hospital from 1970-1972. He was affiliated with Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, was a member of the Kings County Medical Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith Turner Jones, daughter Karen Jones Weston, son, Glenn Kinckle Jones, son-in-law, Trevor Weston, daughter-in-law, Rachael Dubin, and grandchildren, Sam and Anna Jones. Memorial service to be held December 2, 2017 at the First Congregational Church of Chappaqua.
