Anthony Dennis Sturniolo Obituary

Anthony D. Sturniolo passed away peacefully in his hometown of Mt. Kisco, NY on December 21 at the age of 72. Born in New York City on March 15, 1944 to Alfred and Santa Sturniolo, he grew up in Mt. Vernon. He attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, and went on to graduate from New York University with a degree in Communication Arts. Anthony always had an interest in theatre, television, and motion pictures and worked part-time for the CBS Television Network while in college. He then served two years in the US Army Signal Corps as a director/cameraman. Upon his discharge, he returned to CBS Television as the Manager of the Ed Sullivan Theatre. With CBS for 42 years, he retired in 2006 from his position as an executive with CBS News broadcast 60 MINUTES. He then set out to travel all over the world with his wife and best friend, Pat. Locally, Anthony was an active member of the Mt. Kisco community, serving as Vice-Chairman of the Planning Board, and on the Board of Directors of the Italian-American Club of Northern Westchester. In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his beloved sister, Vernette Molloy; his nieces and nephews Tracy, Tara, TJ, Cristin, and Michael; his grandniece and nephew, Madison and Nicholas; and many cousins of all ages. Family and friends may call at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home, 288 East Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY, on Wednesday, December 28, 6 to 8, and Thursday, December 29, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Church in Mt. Kisco on Friday morning (December 30) at 10. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
