Delia M. Siemers Obituary

Delia M. Siemers, 62, of Bedford, New York passed away on May 20th 2015 at NY Presbyterian Hospital after a long battle with ovarian cancer. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she lived a full life surrounded by friends and family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, sense of humor and willingness to help anyone, no matter what. Delia made a difference. Born in the Bronx, Delia married her husband Robert C. Siemers (Bob) at Bear Mountain Park on June 3rd in 1973. In addition to spending time with Bob, her pride and joy has been her three children, Jason, Megan and Erin and two grandchildren, Evan and Kiera. Jason, who is married to the former Shannon Van Allsburg, are the parents of Evan. Megan, married to Shawn Livingston, are the parents of Kiera, and Erin is married to Tom Comito. Delia, the daughter of Mary and Anthony Romeo (both deceased), is the second of nine children, and survived by Raymond, Roger (Allison), Kenneth (Susan), Mary Jo (Nicholas), Andrew (Lonna), Jennifer and Edmund (Olga) and 20 nieces and nephews. Her brother Dennis died in 1982. Delia is also survived by Arlene Siemers, her mother-in-law. Delia loved the town of Bedford and is loved by the entire community. Delia and Bob own Siemers Wine and Spirits, a mainstay of the community located in Hunting Ridge Mall. Over the years she was active at Bedford Central School District, the Fox Lane Volleyball Program, and with the Bedford Firehouse, where Jason and Shannon both serve. She loved music and singing with the Golden Apple Chorus, which for over 35 years has given her much joy. In her last moments with her family she said, "I was very loved and I always will be". A memorial was held for her at Cassidy and Flynn Funeral Home on May 23rd. Her final resting place is Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Support Connection (www.supportconnection.org) for breast and ovarian cancer in Yorktown Heights. Visitation Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home Inc.
