Antonetta Crea Obituary

Antonetta Crea was born in Pietrapennata, Reggio Calabria (Italy) to Antonio and Giuseppina Sidari on October 7, 1935. She was the oldest of three children. While spectacularly beautiful, Pietrapennata was a poor, remote village in the mountains of southern Italy. So in 1956, the family immigrated to Chicago, Illinois in search of prosperity and the American dream. After two years, Antonetta returned to her home village to marry her first and life-long love, Rolando Crea. Antonetta and Rolando returned to the United States and eventually moved to Mount Kisco and then Bedford Hills, NY; where they lived until Rolando's death in 2010. They had two children and many happy memories. Over the years, she and the family visited Italy frequently where they enjoyed spending time with cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and a very large extended family. Above all, Antonetta was a devoted, loving mother whose greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her two children, Vittoria and Gastone; their spouses, Duane and Melissa; and three beautiful grandchildren: Melissa, Damian, and Jaclyn. She will be sorely missed.
