Brenda Constance Young Obituary

It is with profond sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, Brenda Constance (Graves) Young (age 83). Born in Hubbards, NS August 11, 1940, she passed quietly on Thursday, 9 May at Shoreham Village with family by her side.

Mom was, and will be fondly remembered as, a dear heart, a kind-hearted person, a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and auntie, and a friend to all who knew her. She would always welcome you with open arms and a smile. Mom would often tell us "iwawo" (it will all work out) and, good or otherwise, it always did. She had a strong and positive influence on us. We love you and will miss you so much Mom. She will be dearly missed by her close friend and confidante, Winnie Young, who was as close to her as any sister could have been.

Brenda is survived by her daughter Annamarie (Rene Gagne), her sons Edward (Cookie Coolen), Richard (Cheryl Broome) and Darryl (Amanda Evans), her half-sister Lorraine and her grandchildren Christian, Tiffany, Corey, Kyle, Luke, Mattie and Alicia and her great grandchildren Landon, Kayden, Lennie, Logan, Rowan, Zoey, Mila, Nash, Lauren, and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved equally and who loved her dearly in return.

She was pre-deceased by her husband George Elias Young, her son George Lawrence Young, her step-father Reginald Graves, her mother Annie Mae Dauphinee, her step-father Lawrence Dorey, her step-brother Richard Graves and her step-sisters Helen (Graves) Young and Gladys (Graves) Craig.

Dearest Mom, may you rest in peace knowing that we will not forget you and that we will look out for each other in your absence. With all our love we embrace you.

Many thanks to the staff at Shoreham Village, who went above and beyond and cared for Mom as though they would one of their own.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (alzheimer.ca)

Cremation has taken place.

A committal service will be held 11 am Saturday, May 25, 2024 in St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church Cemetery, North West Cove
