Francis P. “Pete” Beary, 88, of Titusville, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Born October 8, 1935, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Frank and Appolonia Hoehnlein Beary.
A 1954 graduate of Oil City High School, he went on to serve in the US Air Force before returning home where he worked as a machinist for many years, eventually retiring in 1998 from Continental Plastic Containers.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating, but most loved working and taking long walks on his beloved farm.
Mr. Beary had been a member of St. Stephen Church.
On June 22, 1968, he was married to the former Loretta F. Lape who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Beth Beary of Economy; a sister, Abbie Porterfield and her husband Jim of Oil City; two sisters-in-law, Louanne Lape and Judith Malatino; and many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary McElroy as well as an infant sister; four brothers-in-law, Robert Lape, Don Young, Gerald Malatino, and Tom Dickerson; and two sisters-in-law, Joan Young and Frances Dickerson.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm in the Morrison Funeral Home where a funeral service will follow at 5 pm.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with a committal service in the chapel at 10:30 am Thursday.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Beary’s name be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 South Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346
