Barbara Ann Mathis Cagle

She fought a good fight…

Barbara Cagle, age 64, passed away after an extended illness at NHC, Milan on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.  Over the past 17 months of treatment, Barbara kept her fun-loving spirit and big heart - always thanking the staff who were treating her. 

Barbara was born in Woodbury, TN and spent most of her life in Manchester, TN and surrounding areas.  Barbara loved listening to gospel music and watching reality TV shows like “The Voice”. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her late husband, Bobby “Joe” Cagle, her parents, Jean and Earl Simmons, and Austin Mathis, and one infant brother, Randall Simmons.  Barbara is survived by brothers, Donny (Stephanie) Mathis, Rick (Angel) Simmons; sisters, Mae (Ray) McAfee, and Trish (Daniel) Porter; as well as several nephews and nieces. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Simmons Cemetery Church located at 209 Simmons Cemetery Road, Hillsboro, TN 37342 with Interment of Ashes immediately following.
