A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11 AM at NewPath Church at 9225 Leesville Road in Raleigh.

A native of Pitt County, Chandler was born on August 5, 1947 to the late Astor and Margaret Eakes Richardson. Following graduation from J.H. Chandler retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and then began his second career as a Service Manager in the automobile industry, primarily in the Raleigh area. He was a longtime member of NewPath Church. In 2022, he reconnected with his middle school sweetheart, was married, and later returned to his native Pitt County and was a faithful attender of First Christian Church. Once he returned home, he enjoyed breakfast and lunch almost every day with old friends. Chandler will be fondly remembered for his kindness and acts of service, strong faith in Jesus Christ, and love for his family. With a loving nature and shining, God-given smile, he befriended many.
