In Loving Memory of Roger Van Horn


Roger Van Horn, cherished husband, faithful father, beloved brother, and devoted Christian, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on October 4, 1940, in Alma, Michigan, to Francis and Rosalind (Essex) Van Horn. Roger Van Horn lived a life filled with devoted passion for his family, love for fishing out the big catch and watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, wide-open heart and for being a servant to his church and God.


Roger Van Horn is survived by his wife Marguerete Van Horn, two brothers Rex and Kirk Van Horn, his daughters, stepdaughters, sons and their spouses Marty and Lynette Van Horn, Laurie Van Horn, Gordon and Tammy Smith, Stanley and Debbie Smith, Angela Wilson, Samantha Rodriguez, Brian and Anna Maria Rogalski, Karyn Mitchell and Kathy Evans. Sixteen grandchildren and step grandchildren Ashley McGee, Jordan Smith, Koni

Smith, Tabatha Quick, Kenneth Dodson, Shawn McDonald, Chelsea Curnutt, Tera Mitchell, Dewey Messenger, Dustin Messenger, Drew Messenger, Joshua Van Horn, Jake Van Horn, Justin Edman, Brittany Edman. As well as numerous great-grandchildren & Great Great grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother Francis and Rosaland (Essex) Van Horn, brother Gerry A. Van Horn, Late wife Willa Jane (Rice) Van Horn, Granddaughter Kaylie Smith.


Viewing services will be held May 11, 2024, from 12-2 pm at La Paz Funeral Home located at 1506 Grandview Ave Odessa Texas 79761. The funeral service will follow immediately after.


Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with their heart and soul, there is no separation.”
