Paula M. Solomon Obituary

Paula Marie Solomon, 57, beloved mother of Omarr James Sr., Janae Powell, Karl Powell Jr. and Jayden Powell, departed this life on Thursday, April 25th 2024. Paula was born in Hartford, CT the second child of five born to the late Wilfred L. Solomon and Carmen V. Solomon. She attended St. Justin's and Northwest Catholic in Connecticut and Obtained a business certificate from Manchester Community College and Certified Nursing Assistant License during her adult life. Notably, Paula worked at Cigna for a number of years before working at Hop Energy in Portland CT for the last sixteen years. Paula also worked for Catholic Charities for a number of years.


Paula was a caring woman who was welcoming, supportive and present for the people with whom she came in contact with. Most noted about Paula was her strength, reliance and commitment to God, Paula's ability to keep preserving no matter the obstacle was a characteristic many of her friends and coworkers admired about her. Many who knew Paula would often see her smiling and laughing, she loved to make jokes or listen to bad ones. Paula centered her life around her children as she was the center of their lives as well. Paula was often seen traveling to Georgia or Virginia to visit her children, going out to eat or to the movies and other trips with her kids. Paula centered her life around her children as she was the center of their lives as well. Paula also enjoyed completing home improvement projects around her home, reading and shopping.



Paula leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Omarr James Sr. and his wife Arianne James, Janae Powell, Karl Powell Jr. and Jayden Powell. A grandson Omarr James Jr. Her mother Carmen Solomon, siblings Andrea Miller, Henley Solomon Sr. and his wife Joyette Solomon and Robyn Solomon- Lawrence. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Her family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 6:00- 8:00 pm at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Ave, Bloomfield, CT. Visitation will also be on Saturday, May 11, 2024 9:00 am-9:30, with The Celebration of Life Service to follow at 9:30 am at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield
