Nathaniel Thomas Coker Obituary

Nathaniel Thomas Coker, age 22 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. He was born in Chattanooga on July 8, 2001, to the late Thomas “Tommy” Coker and Ruby Coker. Nathaniel had been employed for the last two years as an auto diesel mechanic at Southern Tire Mart. He had been a Junior Fireman in 2016 for the Pelham Fire Department and for the past four years had been a fireman with the Monteagle Fire Department. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed being in the woods hunting, muddin, and fishing, as well as fixing broken things. But most of all, Nathaniel loved spending time with his family. His family and friends will remember his caring and compassionate big-heart and selflessness, as well as his creative and fun-nature. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alberta Coker; sister, Trisha Austin; and childhood friend, Isiah Crockett. Nathaniel is survived by his loving mother, Ruby Coker; fiancé, Leya Gates, children, Bryson Coker, and soon-to-be, Weston Thomas Coker; siblings, Thomas (Caroline) Coker, Brittany (Tim) Farrar, John (Amy) Barnett, David (Rachel) Barnett, and MaKayla Hall; brother-in-law, Terry Austin; nieces and nephews, Emily Coker, Lexis Stokes, Ashlee Parks, Zachary Farrar, Bradley Parks, and Josh (Kirsten) Austin; great-nieces and nephews, Amelia, Jaxon, and Lilliann Austin; and his family at Monteagle Fire Department and Southern Tire Mart. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Kevin Kimberlin, Robert Anderson, Chris Thomas, Kevin Kelly, Chris Morland, Christian Stephens, and all brothers within fire service as pallbearers.
