Arnold Dietz Cauble Obituary

Arnold Dietz Cauble, 95, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.


He was born December 3, 1928, in Rowan County, to the late Charlie Franklin Cauble and Vertie Ribelin Cauble. Mr. Cauble attended Granite Quarry School and was a lifelong member of Union Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and was former chairman of the property committee. He was a volunteer with Union Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed serving in under-privileged communities in the mountains of West Virginia and Kentucky. Mr. Cauble was a talented bluegrass musician, who started playing at a young age and continued into his nineties. He picked up his love of bluegrass from his family and passed it along to his children. He looked forward to his yearly trips to Dollywood and wherever else his five sisters wanted to travel.


In addition to his parents, Mr. Cauble was preceded in death by his wife, whom he married July 11, 1948, Anna Rose Goodman Cauble; his brothers, Vernon, Clifford, Robert, John, Raymond, and Jacob; and his sisters, Melvarine, Willie, Zarah, Edith, and Ruth.


He is survived by his three sons, Arnold Michael Cauble and wife, Brenda, Randy Floyd Cauble and wife, Karen, and Steven D. Cauble and wife, Connie, all of Salisbury; brother, Eugene Cauble and wife, Edith, of Salisbury; four granddaughters, Sandra Tukel and husband, Uf of Delray Beach, FL, Crystal Ann Cauble of Salisbury, Katina Tucker and husband, Mezak of Salisbury, and Michele Yago of Concord; two grandsons, Jason Franklin Cauble and wife, Stacy, and Travis Steven Cauble, all of Salisbury; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, May 13, from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM, in the Dutch Meeting Hall at Union Lutheran Church.


The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM on Monday, at Union Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Heidi Punt officiating and Pastor Tonya Brittain and Pastor Mike Motley assisting.


Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
