Judy Ann McWhorter, 69, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024, in her hometown of Lexington, KY, where she was also born on April 12, 1955. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her with her unwavering faith and generous spirit.


Judy's life was a testament to her love for God and her belief in serving others. She was often referred to as an angel by those who were graced by her presence. Her ability to help anyone at any time was not just an attribute but a calling she fulfilled with joy and humility. Judy was the heart and soul of her family, a family she cherished with every fiber of her being.


She is survived by her children, Geneva McWhorter, Lisa McWhorter, and Ishmael McWhorter; her grandchildren, Jordan, Faith, and Trinity McWhorter; her sisters, Marian Spencer, Lavina (Jerry) Williams, Connie Wolfe, and Shirley Wheeler; her brother, Danny (Linda) Coons; and many other family members.


The love Judy had for her family was unparalleled. She was the glue that held them together, the light that guided them, and the warmth that comforted them. Her unwavering support and unconditional love were the foundation upon which her family built their lives.


As we bid farewell to Judy Ann McWhorter, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. We honor a woman who gave so much of herself to ensure the happiness and well-being of others. Her legacy is one of love, service, and devotion, and it will continue to shine brightly through the lives of those she loved. A 12:00pm service will take place Monday, May 13, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main St. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
