Obituary

Queensbury

Peter Craig Turner, born October 27, 1950, passed away peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on May 3, 2024, surrounded by those who loved him like family, one who had cared for him for 25 years.

Peter resided in several Community, Work, and Independence homes. He moved into the Landon Hill

IRA, in Chestertown, in 1995, after which he moved to the Harrington Rd IRA in Johnsburg, and most

recently, he resided at the Fuller Rd IRA in Queensbury, with his CWI family, whom he had known

throughout those years. He also spent many years attending the Schroon River Day Habilitation

Program in Warrensburg

Peter loved coffee, Cocoa Pebbles, Motown music, and his "stick" that he always carried everywhere.

Although a man of few words, his expressions spoke volumes. He had an infectious smile that showed

his big, beautiful dimples. When he was feeling mischievous, he would go on his very own scavenger

hunt for your cup of coffee and that smile and those dimples would appear after the first sip.

Peter is survived by many friends, his housemates who became his family, and staff who loved and

supported him and will cherish many fond memories.

Peter was pre-deceased by his long-time roommate and closest friend, who passed in 2019.

Peter will be laid to rest at the Pine View Cemetery on Quaker Rd in Queensbury, Tuesday, May 14,

2024, at 1:00 pm.

All who knew and loved Peter are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring a cup of their

favorite coffee.
