Kevin M. McAnneny Obituary

In the wee hours of April 27, Kevin McAnneny, best friend, husband extraordinaire, loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, amazing dog-parent, and partner in crime to all so inclined, left this earthly incarnation to explore other realms after a period of declining health.

His life was a testament to finding joy after hardship, love after loss, and spiritual solace after despair. Having been a grateful and devoted member of AA for 35 years, he had found a life second to none and was a power of example to many. He loved his kids & grandkids, his dear friends, jazz (except Coltrane), Queen, John Wayne movies, Italian food, time with people he loved, Ruby the Best Dog Ever (and Katie & Jasmine before her), long convertible rides to get good homemade ice cream, and making people laugh (especially when they shouldn’t). He lived his life in Technicolor and enjoyed every moment he possibly could.

Kevin leaves Linda, primary co-conspirator and wife of 29 years, his daughter and son-in-law Michelle and John Grogan, his son and daughter-in-law Sean & Debbie McAnneny, his daughter Kelly Ricci, five grandchildren and others who became his family of choice (you know who you are). He was also a devoted uncle and friend to Nancy and her late husband Jimmy, Cath & Charly, and Skip & Linda. He will be greatly missed by his family (of blood and of choice), his BFFs, the other members of the AWP Group, and his beloved companions, canine and human, as he traveled the road to happy destiny.

A Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, May 19, 2024, with visitation beginning at noon, Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at Southeast Funeral & Cremation Service, 93 Center Street, North Easton, MA 02356. Everyone is cordially invited to join Kevin’s family for food, conversation, reminiscence and joy commemorating a life well lived at Tutto Bene, 1050 Pearl Street, Brockton. At Kevin’s express wish, the gathering will conclude with an open bar…. ice cream bar, that is!

In lieu of flowers, share a smile, forgive a grudge, mend a fence… or, if you’d like, consider donating to Patriot Paws, 254 Ranch Trail Rockwall, TX 75032 or at https://patriotpaws.org/, a 4-star charity that saves shelter dogs, works with prison inmates to train the pooches in basic good manners, further trains them as fully accredited service dogs and gives them to disabled veterans in need free of charge. He'd like that.
