Donald Preston York passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the age of 94.

Don was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to John and Katherine (Gillis) York, on June 11, 1929. He grew up in Edison, NJ, where he met and married his high-school sweetheart, Jean Seroka. Upon graduation from high school, Don served in the U.S. Airforce as an Airman First Class in the Korean War. His duties placed him as an air traffic controller in several European countries during the war. After the war, he and his young bride were stationed in Louisiana. Upon the arrival of his first child, Don came back to New Jersey and took a job as an accountant assistant at Revlon. He continued his career at The Mennan Company in Morristown where he was Director of Sales until he retired in 1994. His sharp mind and keen wit made him a well-respected and well-liked manager.

Don was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Jean (Seroka) in 2018. Don is survived by his son, Scott (Deborah) York, of NJ, his daughter, Donna (Ron) Fischer, of NJ, grandson, Ryan (Megan) Fischer, of CA and granddaughter, Samantha York, of MA.
