The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Lise Laforest (nee Larche) and loving father of Alain Laforest of Niagara Falls and René Laforest (Allison Kirkbride) of Timmins. Cherished grandfather of Knox and Sloan. Dear brother of Yvonne Levesque (Laurent), Thérèse Legault (late André), Fernand Laforest (Fernande), Léon Laforest (Claudette), Jean-Guy Laforest (Sharon), Lorraine Whissel (Larry) and Marc Laforest (Kim) as well as his sisters-in-law; Chris, Tina and Jeannine. Predeceased by his parents Joseph & Emelda Laforest, his brothers Roland, Laurent, Gilles, Donald and his in-laws Bert & Lina Larche. Michel worked as a heavy machinery operator for many years. His versatility in operating different machinery made him a real asset. Everyone who knew him, recognized his green thumb.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
