It is with sincere sorrow that the family announces the passing of Cristina Miriam Chirino, on May 6, 2024. An esteemed figure and beloved family member, Cristina was born in 1952.


Surviving Cristina are her cherished daughters, Cindy Campos, Miriam Taylor, Clarixa Chirino-Portillo; her admired sons-in-law, Jose Portillo and Edwin Campos; her much-loved siblings Maria Elena Parada, Maria Trinidad Chirino, Maria Esperanza Bonilla, Norma Panameno, and Nerlin Llanes; and her esteemed brother Fredis Chirino. Each of them played a significant role in shaping her life and will continue to honor her legacy.


Cristina was a doting grandmother to Zinnia Garay-Islas, Melvin Lizano, Alan Portillo, Jaimie Ortiz, Allison Cabrera-Basse, Joseph Portillo, Kierstan Taylor, Tristan Taylor, Andrea Campos, Alexis Campos and Patrick Portillo; two granddaughters-in-law: Lidia Rodriguez-Portillo and Giselle Padilla; grandsons-in-law: Joshua Islas, Tyler Basse, Robert Ortiz and Luc Scott; and ten great grandchildren: Letty, Mia, Noah E., Dahlia, Noah A., Ezekiel, Riley, Cindi, Maverick, Elijah. She took immense pleasure in their accomplishments and nurtured them with her boundless love and generosity.


She was predeceased by her mother, Ernestina Chirino de Amaya, her father, Santana Chirino, and her brothers, Jose De Leon, Rafael and Angel Chirino. Despite these losses, Cristina carried on with grace and strength, demonstrating the remarkable spirit that her loved ones will fondly remember.


A viewing for Cristina will be held on May 16, 2024, at Amor Funeral Home from 6:30 PM thru Midnight. This will be followed by a Memorial Service at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church beginning at 10 AM with burial service at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park beginning at 12:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to attend to celebrate Cristina's beautiful and impactful life. We ask attendees to wear white and/or yellow colors, they were Cristina’s favorite color.



In this time of grief, we find solace in the timeless memories of Cristina. May her spirit continue to guide and watch over us. Rest in Heaven, Cristina Chirino.
