Funeral services for Marvin Husmann age 97 of Norfolk, NE will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at The Rock Chapel and Museum in Pilger, NE. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Pilger Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Cooper Family Community Center in Pilger, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the Cooper Family Community Center.


Marvin passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.


Marvin Nicholas Husmann was born on September 11, 1926 at rural Pilger, NE to Herman and Lizzie (Dohren) Husmann. He attended Stanton County Rural School District #25 and Pilger High School. Marvin served in the United States Army from May of 1945 until he was honorably discharged in December of 1946. He was a Military Policeman during the European Theatre in Italy.


On October 15, 1945, he was united in marriage to Dola Mae Wolverton on her parent’s farm near Pilger, NE. They farmed 2 miles north of Pilger on the Herman Husmann farm from 1946-1968. They moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, where Marvin worked for Pennick and Ford. In 1972, they returned to Nebraska, where Marvin worked at Goodyear in Norfolk, NE. Don later moved to Norfolk, NE.

Son-Don Husmann of Norfolk, NE and his family-

Jason Goodell and family-Alllie Goodell, Zoey Goodell and Keaton Bucholz and children-Jonah, Thomas, and Bo

Daughter-Joella Miller of Kearney, NE and family-

Chris and Mary Miller and children-Mitchell Miller, Hannah and Cole Couillard and children-Ayla & Livi, and Khris Vontz

Lindsey and Matt Connot and children-Morgan and Jonny


Marvin was preceded in death by his parents-Herman and Lizzie Husmann, parents in law-Dan and Nell Wolverton, brother-Norbert and Mary Husmann, sister-Helen and Russ Tiedtke, and a great grandson-Christopher Goodell.
