Hope Andrea Antoinette Clarke Obituary

Hope Andrea Antoinette Clarke, Age 65, an Oak Park resident for 40 years, was born September, 22, 1952 in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Hope attended Excelsior High School, University of the West Indies, and University of Illinois Chicago, were she earned a Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Rush Presbyterian University Hospital until her retirement in January 2018. A friend first, ‘Hopie’ enjoyed being a grandmother, mother and sister to all. Survived by Kristopher Murray (Son), Kristiana Murray (Daughter-in-law), Kristopher Murray II, Payton Brown, Kaspian Murray, Kingston Murray (Grandchildren), Kathleen Cross (Mother), Lorraine Cross (Sister), Perez Cross (Brother). She made the words hope and help synonymous. Whether actively helping patients, family and friends or listening and bringing calm to a storm, her life’s work revolved around service to others. As a nurse she was the constant professional and teacher, she crossed all lanes and blurred all lines doctors, nurses, clerks, transport and parking attendants would receive both the science and humanity of what contributed to excellent patient care. She strived at being good at what she did and helped numerous teams to achieve success. “To Realize One’s Destiny is a person’s only obligation” - The Alchemist Funeral Service Monday, June 9th, 4:00 p.m. at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 545 South East Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60304.
