Ginger R. Bolcar, age 67, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Park West Hospital due to complications from a fall. She was surrounded at the end by her beloved family.
Ginger was born in Knoxville, TN on July 4, 1956 to parents Glen and Peggy (Wise) Reed. She grew up in Knoxville, and went to Karns High School, where she met the love of her life and her best friend, her husband Christopher Bolcar. She and Chris moved to Destin, FL, where Chris was serving in the U.S. Air Force, and there they welcomed their first child, daughter Kristen Ellen. Later they moved to Bossier City, LA, where their son Stephen Ryan was born. Their family then moved to Wiesbaden, Germany, where they lived for 4 years, before being stationed stateside to Florida, and then finally back to Knoxville.
Ginger worked for many years at Park West Hospital and at various medical practices as a nurse; she loved traveling to Biltmore House and Gardens, and enjoyed visiting Disney World many times over the years with her husband and children. She loved cruises, and gardening, cooking, and having fun with family and friends, but loved most of all just spending time with her husband and her two wonderful children.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Chris Bolcar; loving son Stephen Ryan Bolcar and his wife Meghan Hart; loving daughter, Kristen Bolcar and her husband Beau Keck, her brothers Tim Reed (Hani), Todd Reed (Amy), David Reed (Wanda) and Danny Reed (Sherree).
In accordance with Ginger’s wishes, there will be no memorial service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which benefits the families of fallen or disabled Gold Star veterans and first responders.
