Peggy Pierce Obituary

Sister Peggy Ann Jackson Pierce, known to her immediate family as Peggy, is celebrated this day – July 7, 2018. She was the embodiment Christian spirituality in love, truth, honesty, integrity, and generosity. This was evidence through her embracement of the people she met. Her life’s journey began in Lake City, Florida – November 19, 1953 – to the parents of the late Mr. LB and Flora Lee Jackson. She was the fourth of thirteen children. She attended school in Appling County and Jeff Davis. She was united in marriage to Donald Pierce on June 9, 1971. She retired from Hazlehurst Mills after thirty plus years of service. At an early age, Sister Peggy and her family moved from Lake City, FL to various cities of Georgia and settled in Baxley, Georgia, where she sought Christian fellowship as a member of Mizpah Missionary Baptist Church. Later, her family moved to Hazlehurst, Georgia and she became a member of Big Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, continuing her Christian walk of faith. Soon she felt the calling to move her membership to Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church. She continued her spiritual warfare in Christ Jesus, professing the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She served faithfully in the church choir, Sunday School, Bible Study, and church services until she heard the Master’s call on June 29, 2018. Her favorite past time was reading the Word, singing, praising the Lord, watching western movies and cartoons. Preceding her in death are her parents, her siblings: Mrs. Mary Louise McDaniel, Mr. LB Jackson, Jr., Mr. James Terry Jackson, Mr. Ricky Jackson, and an adopted brother, Mr. Michael Anderson. She leaves to cherish and to reflect upon her heart-felt memories: the love of her life, a faithful and devoted husband – Mr. Donald L. Pierce, “Doc” or “Hubby” (as she affectionately called him); three children: Ms. Tammy “Shorty” Pierce, Ms. Donna Pierce, and Mr. La’Donald “Champ” Pierce. Her pride and joy, three grandchildren: Stanley Roundtree, Sucarra Ariel Pierce, and Chasity Tamia Roundtree. She will be remembered as a bouquet of “roses” by her beloved family. To further reflect upon her precious memories are her remaining siblings: Brother-in-law, R. T. McDaniel, Bishop Johnny L. (Billie) Jackson, Ms. Linda Jackson, Mr. Tommy (Linda Faye) Jackson, Ms. Billie Cooper, Mrs. Minnie (Greg) Stripling, Minister Mickey (Lorene) Jackson, and Mr. Dano Jackson. Many loving nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
