Duane Elmer Erickson, 82, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be held on, Friday, July 6, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. in Bagley, MN, with the Reverend Gerold Goetz officiating. Visitation will be and one hour prior to the services at the church. Military rites will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post 16 of Bagley. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements. Duane was born on October 14, 1935, in Magnolia, Minnesota the son of Elmer and Gwynn (Williams) Erickson. He lived in many communities in the Wadena area. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1956. He married Kathleen Nelson on August 29, 1959 in Battle Lake, MN. After their marriage they moved to the Bagley area, where they farmed. Duane worked at Darst Potatoes, and the Bagley Elevator for 21 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder, and Vice President. He was also a member of the Irvin Blix American Legion Post 16 of Bagley. Duane enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, wood working, trapping, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Kate Erickson of Bagley, MN 1-Daughter- Lisa (John) Bucksbee of Bellevue, Neb. 4-Sons- Tony (Lisa) Erickson of Denham Springs, LA, Kevin Erickson of Bagley, MN, Eric Erickson of Bagley, MN, Dwight Erickson if Thief River Falls, MN 5-Sisters- Lola Eddy of Decatur, GA, Mary Erickson of Clitherall, MN, Emaline Ercikson of Clitherall, MN, Pat Beatty of Colorado Springs, CO, and Diane Erickson of Peyton, CO 23-grandchildren and 12-great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tyler Erickson in 2007, 2 sisters, 1 brother and a great grandchild. Memorials may be directed to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Roofing Fund.
