Larry Dean Anderson was born on November 18, 1944 to Rolland and Edla (Lundeen) Anderson in the old West Point Hospital, West Point, Nebraska. He passed away on May 3, 2024 at the Oakland Heights Nursing Home, Oakland, Nebraska at the age of 79.

Larry attended school District 68 in Cuming County Nebraska. He lived on the family farm in Cuming County from 1944 to 1962 at which time they moved to Fremont, Nebraska until 1967. Larry and his mother moved to Oakland, Nebraska in 1970 after the death of his father.

Larry was a member of First Lutheran Church in Oakland, Nebraska and Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, Nebraska. He enjoyed going to church and taking part in all church activities. He was a faithful attendee on Saturday evenings at First Lutheran where he was called upon to take up the offering. Larry seldom missed weddings, anniversaries and funerals. He was a longtime member of the Oakland Lions Club and the Oakland Jaycees. Larry loved to square dance and was a member of the “Swingaways”. He enjoyed playing cards and going to the local coffee shop to keep in touch with the “news” of the day.

Larry worked for different farmers in the area and also worked for 11 years at Grain States in West Point, Nebraska.

Larry had an amazing memory and was a stranger to no one. He probably knew more about your family history that you did!! At the age of six Larry was stricken with polio however he did not let his disability stop him from doing tasks that most people wouldn’t even try.

Survivors include many friends and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
