Jon Allen Morell, Jr., 59, of Berwick, died Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his home.

Born December 6, 1964 in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of Jon Allen Morell, Sr. and Catherine “Sue” (Kobunski) Morell of Lehigh Acres, FL.

He graduated from high school in Westminster, MD in 1982 and went on earn his MBA from Loyola College. He served as an SFC in the U.S. Army.

Jon was the director of Materials Management at Lehigh Vally Hospital, Hazleton, and most recently at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

He was a board member of Holy Family School and the Berwick School Board, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Berwick Elks, and Chains for Berwick. He loved Berwick football, wrestling, the movie Top Gun, and the series Law and Order. 

He was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins and Notre Dame football, and any game you played strictly by the rules.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Michael and Josephine Kobunski; and his paternal grandparents, Dominic and Josephine Morell.

In addition to his parents, Jon is survived by his wife of 34 years, the former Mara Andrzejewski; his son, Dominic Morell of Charleston, SC; his daughter, Brennan Morell of Berwick; his sister, Dawn Morell of Westminster, MD; two nieces: Bailey Bobkoskie and Josie Harrell; and sister-in-laws: Diane Ruhmel and husband Scott, and Lori Andrzejewski.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of funeral services at 8:00 P.M. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick, with Rev. William T. Barbee of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Berwick, officiating.

The family invites everyone to a celebration of Jon's life on Friday, May 3 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Berwick VFW, 1408 West Front Street, Berwick.
