Aleta Mae Erbel, age 99, of Saline, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Brecon Village in Saline.
Born on September 21, 1924 in Quyon, Quebec, she was the daughter of William and Mildred (Vibert) Hobbs. She was married to Adam Erbel Jr., until his passing in 2006.
She was employed with Manufacturers Bank as a teller for 16 years until retiring in 1986.
Aleta was a member of the VFW Auxillary Carleton and St. John Auxillary. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and was known for being amazing at cooking walleye. She helped with 4H and Girl Scouts. Her family meant everything to her.
Aleta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 5 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Robert Erbel, John (Rhonda) Erbel, Carole (Frank Shumway) Erbel, Christine (Dennis) Maurer, LuAnn (Robert) Sylvester, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. She will lie instate at Christ Our King Lutheran Church 3255 Saline Waterworks Road, Saline on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Joseph Polzin and Pastor Tom Schroeder will officiate the service. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Christ Our King Lutheran Church of Saline or Brighton Hospice.
