James Otis "Coon" Collins Obituary

James Otis Collins was affectionately known as Boon Coon to family and friends.  He was born March 30, 1959, in Bibb County, Georgia to the late parents McKinley and Daisy Mae Collins.

He attended the Bibb County Public School system.  He enjoyed spending holidays and special gatherings with his family.  He was very well known in his community as “Black Bottom” and to his neighbors.  He joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age.  

On April 11, 2024, James Collins was called home.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Mae Brown.

James Otis Collins leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings, McKinley Collins, Jr. of Macon, Georgia, William Charles Collins, Sr. of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Patricia Ann Gordon of Macon, Georgia, Belinda (Ronnie) Walker of Tampa, Florida, Harry Collins of Macon, Georgia; step-brother, Billy Adkins of Forsyth, Georgia; step mother, Deloris Collins of Macon, Georgia; aunt, Fannie Mae Houston of Macon, Georgia; a longtime friend, James Fowler of Macon, Georgia; two loving caretakers, Carlton Sanford and Connie Collins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
