Susan Densberger Obituary

Susan Densberger, 73, of Berwick, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.


Born July 25, 1950 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Irene (Ford) Herring.


She was employed at Wise Potato Chips, Berwick, retiring in 2005.


Susan was a member of the Slavonic Club, the Berwick VFW, the American Ukrainian Citizens’ Club, and the Russian Club. 


She enjoyed shopping, social media, and especially spending time with her great-grandchildren and her friends. Those who knew her will always remember her good-heartedness.


She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin James Hampton, who died June 21, 1979; her brother, James F. Herring; and her sister, Jacqueline Long.


She is survived by her companion of 14 years, Ronald Lee Longenberger; two sons: John Thomas Hampton, Jr. of Berwick, and Brian Hampton and his wife, Denise, of Benton; two daughters: Holly Vaughan of Berwick, and Wendy, wife of Brian John, of New Cumberland; 10 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren; her brother, John Herring and his wife, Marqueen, of Catawissa; and five sisters: Wanna Lee Babb of Orangeville, Gloria, wife of Rich Truax, of Bloomsburg, Norma Jean Erlston of Danville, Kathy, wife of Bob Drumheller, of Danville, and Hazel Diel of Danville.


A visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until noon at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick.


A private family interment will be held at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.


Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., Berwick.
