Joyce Worley Skipper Obituary

Memorial services for Joyce Worley Skipper, 89, will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Skipper passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.  Born in Lynchburg, VA she was a daughter of the late Norman H. Worley and Myrtle Sligh Worley Moore.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville, VFW Auxiliary Lake Murray Post 6470, and retired as the Business Manager of Patriots Point in Charleston.

Surviving are her daughters, Caroline S. (Jerry) Stone, Katherine S. Stone, and Molly S. (Clay) Burkett, brother, Norman Worley, sister, Linda Worley Glass, 7 grandchildren, 14, great-grandchildren and dear friend, Shadie Merritt. She was predeceased by her husband, B. “Skipper” Skipper and a daughter, Anne Shepherd Burke.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and CNA Diana Praylow for their love and care during Mom’s illness.
