Dr. Richard L. McDaniel Obituary

Dr. Richard Lane McDaniel passed quietly at his home on April 8, 2024. Dr. McDaniel was a graduate of Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He practiced dentistry in the Batesburg-Leesville area for many years. He was the son of the late William T. (Bill) and Mary H. McDaniel and was an active member of Leesville Methodist Church. Post-retirement, Rick enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop, attending Clemson football games, riding his tractor and four-wheeler around his farm talking to the cows, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Faye C. McDaniel, children and spouses, Woodrow Thomas (Cara) Webb, Jeffrey Bradford (Sara) Scott and Ryan Eugene (Amber) McDaniel. His seven grandchildren were the loves of his life: Grant Thomas Webb, Emma Grace Webb, Savannah Jennings Scott, Hunter Bradford Scott, Jesse Lane McDaniel, Lyla Ruth McDaniel and Levi Wells McDaniel. His four-legged companion, Tillie, brought absolute joy to his life. Special recognition is extended to the gentlemen of the Monday Afternoon Bible Study. His time with them was something he treasured and looked forward to weekly.

Rick was predeceased by a brother, William T. (Tmac) McDaniel, III.

A Service of Worship will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Leesville Methodist Church. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall. A private interment will be held at a later time. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.
