Gregory “Greg” Williams, age 54, of Winchester, Il. and formerly of White Hall, Il. died Wednesday evening (April 3, 2024) in St. Louis, Mo.



He was born February 4, 1970 in White Hall, Il. son of the late Lloyd Dean and Rose Ellen Jackson Williams.


He married Rita McMillen on December 21, 1991 in Carrollton, Il. and she survives.


Also surviving are daughters, Brandi Williams of Jerseyville, Il. and Danielle Fanning (Josh) of Roodhouse, Il.; sons, Gregory Dean Williams, Jr. (Christa) of Carrollton, Il., and Austin Williams of Winchester, Il.; nine grandchildren, Dayton, Isabel, Stella “Rosie”, Willow “Tiny”, Austin, Samuel, Zoei, Wyatt, and Wesley; and his beloved dog Mr. Pickles.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Greg was an over the road truck driver and later became a logger for Walnut Timber Buyers. He loved to dance and listen to country music. He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering and building things. Greg also loved demo derbies and having a cold beer after work. His greatest love was spending time with his grandbabies.


Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday (April 17, 2024) at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, Il. Burial will be in Mt. Gillied Cemetery near Carrollton, Il. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Hospital and sent to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 5th Street, Carrollton, Il. 62016. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
