Memorial service for Albert L. “Buck” Gobbel, Jr., 88, will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday at Charity Community Church, 1704 Pond Branch Rd., Gilbert, SC. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel  is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gobbel passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024.  Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Albert L. Gobbel, Sr. and Laura Brown Gobbel and was a painter for over 60 years. 

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Gobbel; daughters, Brenda Reilly (Billy) and Shelby DeFrenn (Bob); son, Dennis Gobbel; step-son, Chuck Burkett (Kim); step-daughter, Sonya Hartley (Kevin); brother, David F. Gobbel, Sr. (Mary); 3 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeannie Burkett Gobbel, daughter-in-law, Donna Gobbel; sisters, Katie Johnson, Magelane Evans, Helen McLemore, and Ruth Sanders.
