Albert Henry Huizing Obituary

HUIZING, Albert Henry, Sr., age 84, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Elmer and Clara (Douma) Huizing. Albert was previously from Prospect Park and Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Lancaster, PA in 2014.


He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army for 8 years. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Rutgers University. Albert, after various corporate positions, was self-employed as a printer in the family business, Huizing Inc. in Paramus before his retirement in 1996. He later went on to be a volunteer truck driver/representative for JAARS – Wycliffe Bible Translators.


He was a member of the Prospect Park Christian Reformed Church, Franklin Lakes Reformed Bible Fellowship, and the Preakness Valley United Reformed Church and served faithfully as Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder, and on various church committees during his life. While living in Lancaster, PA he was attending the Westminster Presbyterian Church.


Albert leaves behind: his beloved wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (Vos) Huizing; his sister Annamae Hulsebos of Wyckoff, NJ, and his sister Lois Verblaauw of North Haledon, NJ; he was predeceased by his son Albert H. Huizing, IV in 2022 and his daughter Beth Ann Prol in 2023; devoted father of Beth Prol and her husband Edward of Sparta NJ, Albert H. Huizing IV and his wife Susanne of Sioux Falls, SD, Russell and his wife Margaret of Clarkesville, GA, and Michele Boonstra and her husband Mark of Wyckoff, NJ. He is survived with 21 wonderful grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.


Family and friends may visit the Huizing family on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 4-7 PM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral service to be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
