Colin Carter Slate Obituary

Colin Carter Slate, 86, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born in Mansfield, Arkansas, on August 19, 1937, to Warren Oscar Slate and Eunice Annie Evans Slate, both of whom predeceased him.


Colin graduated from high school in 1958, and he was a lifelong Baptist and member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield. He served as minister to Grayson Baptist Church and Union Hall Baptist Church in Booneville. Additionally, he was employed at the Booneville Human

Development Center and retired after 30 years.


Colin is survived by his son, Robin Wayne Slate of Wye Mountain, Arkansas; one daughter, Cheri Roudebush (Aaron) of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Elijah, Josiah, and Benjamin Roudebush, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and one

sister, Linda Brown of Mansfield. 


He was predeceased by his parents, Warren Oscar and Eunice Slate, his wife, Rebecca Lancaster Slate; and five sisters: Rachel Dorrough, Ina Bell Hurt, Betty Dodd, Elsie Allen, and Birtha Burrows.


Colin's family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Interment will take place at Coop Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
