Denver L. Walton Obituary

Denver L. Walton, 75, of Center Township, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born June 4, 1935, in Aliquippa, he was the last surviving child of Dewey and Olive (Streit) Walton. Denver was a retiree of ARCO Chemical where he was employed as a chemist. A leading historian for Beaver County Denver served on the Beaver County Historical Research and Landmarks Foundation. He worked on a team to research and restore the Vicary House in Freedom and also authored several books detailing the history of Beaver County. He leaves two sons, Terry Walton of Los Angeles, CA and Larry Walton of Center Township and three grandchildren, Daniel, Travis and Lauren. In addition to his parents Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia (Smith) Walton in February 2008; a daughter, Patricia Walton Edwards in 1995; a sister, Merlin Dorworth and a brother, Melvin Walton. Per Mr. Walton?s wishes there will be no public visitation and he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Eugenia, in Beaver Cemetery.
