Eugene A. ?Buddy? Caltury, 72, of Monaca, passed away in his home on Friday, May 18, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on April 19, 1940, and raised in Monaca, he was the son of the late Anthony and Stella Caltury. Buddy was a retired account manager for Damon Industries and won many trips for being a top salesman. He always kept his hometown?s best interest at heart, serving on Monaca Council for many years and as council president for six years. Bud also served in the U.S. Army during peacetime, as president of United Steelworkers Union Local 4577, as chairman of the Democratic Committee, as a board member of Beaver County Hospital Authority Board, was founder of Parking Enforcement Services and was a longtime member of Monaca SOI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Nicole Mundorff, in 2001. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda; his sister, Shirley (Bill) Buiney in Ohio; his son, Tony Caltury of Monaca; his daughter, Angela (Jeff) Harper, of York, PA; his stepdaughters, Roberta Cooper of Longmont, CO, Diane (David) Westover of South Beaver, Marcy (Joe) Rudolph of Baden and Leigh (Clint) Keenan of Monaca; numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a special friend, Johnny Booher. Sincere thanks to friends and family members who unselfishly devoted their time, love and support this past six months. Buddy dearly loved you all and appreciated your loving care. The family would also like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, especially his nurse, Heather, Sister Pat and the nurses at Hospice House. They are truly Angels of Mercy. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where a blessing service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. George Chortos, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Monaca.
