Martha J. Foehringer

Martha J. Foehringer, 77, of Monaca, and formerly of Zelienople, passed away, Sunday evening, February 17, 2008, at The Medical Center, Beaver. Born October 8, 1930 in Zelienople, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Kradel) Hartzel. Schooled in Zelienople, Martha was a 1948 high school graduate and in her youth worked as a waitress at the Kaufmann House Restaurant. A resident of Monaca since 1948, Mrs. Foehringer was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, Monaca, and had served as a Girl Scouts assistant leader during the early 1960s. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John D. Foehringer in 1994; an infant brother, Eugene Hartzel, and a son-in-law, David Lash in 2005. She leaves a daughter, Barbara Foehringer Lash and a son, Jeffrey J. Foehringer, both of Monaca; two grandsons, Matthew Lash, of New Brighton, and Michael Lash, of Monaca; several nieces and nephews, and three cousins, Erla Bernd, Shirley Beighey, and Howard Kugel. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-728- 4000), where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Reverend Mark A. Groves, officiating. Entombment will follow beside her beloved husband John, in Zelienople Cemetery Mausoleum.
