Alberta (Paul) Bechtel, 85, of Monaca, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct 21, 2009, and is now reunited with her late husband and son. Alberta was born Dec. 5, 1923, in McKees Rocks and was raised in Glenwillard. On Oct. 27, 1941, Alberta and Carl W. Bechtel were united in marriage, a bond that was broken by his passing in 2000. Alberta worked for a number of years as a medical secretary. Her latest employment was for Dr. J. Baska. She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca. She enjoyed playing bingo and an occasional trip to Mountaineer Casino. Alberta was preceded by her parents, Julius and Flora Paul; her husband, Carl W. Sr.; a son, Carl W. Jr.; a brother, John Paul, and a sister, Ruth Yaklich. She leaves a daughter, Carol and her husband, Fritz Masters of Monaca; four grandchildren, Ronald Tempest and his wife, Kendra of Denver, Co. and Jessica, Erica and Taylor Bechtel, all in Va.; three sisters, Florence Miller, Alice Runyon and Mildred Erwin, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000), where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her service on Saturday at 10 a.m. Pastor Keith Getz of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer will officiate.
