Olive D. Brenneman (Troy), 84, of Monaca, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 8, 1925, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Josephine Troy. She was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Monaca and was involved in numerous organizations over the years including Christian Mothers and C D of A at St. John?s, Democratic Women of Pennsylvania and Monaca Turners Women?s Auxiliary. Olive was a 1943 graduate of Mount Gallitzin Academy and attended Geneva College. Olive was a wonderful mother to all her children and a devoted wife to her husband, Donald M. Brenneman, whom she married on February 17, 1947, in Ambridge, and who preceded her in death in January of 1986. She was loved and respected by her many friends and relatives. She could be counted on to be the ?life of the party?. She leaves to mourn her loss her family of six children, Donna L. Hudson of Beaver, Jeanne L. Barrett of Deerfield Beach, FL, Emily J. Brenneman of Broadlands, VA, Robert W. Brenneman of Ashburn VA, Ilene C. Rowan (Mickey) of Monaca and Donald M. Brenneman (Deb) of Springboro, OH; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Hudson, Jonathan Hudson (Tammi), Robert Colwell, Neil Colwell, Katherine Barrett, Daniel Barrett, Troy Brenneman, Kyle Brenneman, and Alexa, Lauren, Haley and Hannah Brenneman; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brady and Brennen Hudson and her very dear niece, Pam Fronko of Monaca. In addition to her husband and parents, Olive was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen J. Brenneman and a sister, Jean Fronko. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave. Monaca, where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family has suggested that contributions in Olive?s memory be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic School, 15th Street, Monaca, PA 15061 or Children?s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, One Children?s Hospital Drive, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. A special debt of gratitude and thanks for the compassionate care Olive received is extended to Heartland Hospice Care from her family.
