M. Jean Glass Obituary

M. Jean Glass, 79, of Monaca, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the Masonic Village at Sewickley. Born October 11, 1931, Jean was a daughter of the late Chester R. and Florence (Weigle) Kallberg. A graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1950, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and later graduated from Garfield Business School. Jean was employed as a payroll clerk for the Borough of Monaca for 12 years before retiring and previously worked in the Beaver County Register of Wills as an inheritance tax clerk. She was a member of Crestmont Christian Missionary Alliance where she also participated in Alliance Women. Jean?s hobby of wood carving led her to membership in the Beaver County Wood Carvers. She will be sadly missed by her husband, George E. Glass, whom she married on January 3, 1969; a son, Terry Frank and his wife, Becky, of North Sewickley Township; two daughters, Karla Besong and her husband, Ron, of Fair Oaks and Lynn Nyoh, of Monaca; four grandchildren, Bob Frank, Amanda (Paul) LoMagro and Joe and Leah Nyoh and one great-grandson, Tyler Frank. In addition to her parents Jean was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Frank, in 1963; an infant brother, Chester Kallberg, Jr. and a sister, June McPherson. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Timothy Reichard, Director of Pastoral Care at the Masonic Village at Sewickley will officiate. Interment will follow in The Beaver Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or a charity of the donor?s choice.
