Thomas R. DeRosia Obituary

Thomas R. DeRosia, 68, of New Sewickley Township, passed away Saturday evening, May 24, 2008, in his home. Tom was born in Wayne, Mich. on Nov. 17, 1939. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. For the majority of his working career, he was employed as a draftsman. He was a member of St. Johns Burrys Church, New Sewickley Township, and had previously served as a church council deacon. One of his favorite pastimes was woodworking. He leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Leona M. (Brenner) DeRosia; four daughters, Elizabeth Henry and her children, Robert and Aleesha Henry; Sharon Huggins and her husband, Christopher, and their children, Sarah, Ryan and Emma; Carrie Blawas and her husband, James and their children, Kate, Hannah, Michael and Matthew; Kimberly Funyak and her husband, Josef and their son, Josiah; a great-grandson, Thomas Henry. He also leaves a brother, Dennis DeRosia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Frances (Ferrier) DeRosia, and a brother, Kenneth DeRosia. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 28, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in St Johns Burrys Church, 1835 Rt. No. 68, Rochester (New Sewickley Twp.) with his pastor, Rev. Michael VanArsdale and assisted by Pastor Tom Smith, co officiating. Interment will follow immediately in St. Johns Burrys Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000).
