Toni Murphy Obituary

Toni Murphy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Detroit on September 30, 1943, to Violet Grifford, Toni lived a life characterized by warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith.

As a homemaker, Toni dedicated herself to her family, finding joy in nurturing her children and creating a loving home. Her devotion to her role as a mother was evident in the love and care she poured into her family every day. Toni's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Toni had a deep love for children beyond her own family and was known for her compassion and kindness towards all. She found fulfillment in helping others and was always ready to offer a helping hand to those in need. Her selflessness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

In addition to her devotion to her family and community, Toni had a zest for life. She found joy in traveling to new places, exploring different cultures, and experiencing the world around her. Her culinary skills were admired by all who had the pleasure of tasting her delicious meals, and her love for cooking brought people together around the table.

Toni's love for shopping was matched only by her love for her faith. A devout Christian, she found solace and strength in her spirituality, and her faith was a guiding force throughout her life's journey. Her unwavering belief in God brought her comfort in times of joy and sorrow alike.

Toni will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Toni is survived by her loving children Violet (Gary) Furman; David Murphy, Everett (Tanya) Murphy, and Dorinda (Eric) Kilgore; twelve cherished grandchildren ; eighteen beloved great-grandchildren ; dear siblings Esther, Randy, and Alice ; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and siblings William, Charles, Edward, George, Violet, and Marie.

Private interment was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
