Dennis Diane Goodwin Obituary

Dennis Diane Goodwin, 91, of Belpre, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away April 2, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.


She was born November 28, 1932, in Union City, IN, a daughter of the late Glen Eugene and Esther Marie Webster Coby. She graduated from West Side High School (Union City) in 1950. After high school, she attended Ball State University before moving to Colorado where she met her future husband Bud Goodwin.


Dennis had worked as a bank teller for Belpre Savings Bank. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Mary Circle. She was also a member and past president of the Belpre Women's Club. Dennis enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening and reading.


She is survived by her children Daniel Goodwin of Galloway, OH, David (Lynn) Goodwin of Greenville, SC, James Goodwin of Tampa, FL, Robert Goodwin of Fleming, OH, Leslie (Goodwin) Maddox of Beaumont, TX, and Christine Goodwin of Cornelius, NC; grandchildren Spencer Goodwin, Coby Goodwin, Katherine (Alex) Ghilani, John Goodwin, Sydney Maddox, and Emma Maddox; step-grandchildren Ryan Davis, Connor (Heather) Davis, Rachel (Tony) Moore, and RJ Moore, and step-great grandchildren Anthony Davis and Nathaniel Davis; a sister Carol Fraze.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard "Bud" Leslie Goodwin; her sisters Leatrice Resor, Myra Shierling, Jean Fossedal, Sharon Maresch; her daughter-in-law Mary (Burgandy) Goodwin; and her grandson Matthew Brian Goodwin.


Memorial services will be 10 AM Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 302 Maple St. Belpre, OH 45714, with Pastor David Hubbard officiating. The service will honor both Bud and Dennis as Bud passed away during COVID and a service was not able to be held at the time of his death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Belpre, Ohio.
