<p>Joseph T. Zabatta, 76, of Coventry, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Easter morning, March 31, 2024 at home. </p><p>He was the beloved husband of Irene T. (Dauphinais) Zabatta, they had been married for fifteen years.&nbsp; Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Pasqualena (Lepre) Zabatta. </p><p>Joe was employed by the Town of West Warwick Highway Department for twenty-five years before retiring in 1998 as the Director.&nbsp; He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran, an antique car enthusiast and a New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. </p><p>Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Andrea L. Zabatta; three granddaughters, Casie Gil, Emily Gil, Jadyn Gil; a grandson, Mason Gil; three step-children, Bernadette Sheldon, George Sanford, Diane Sanford and her significant other Michael Lombari; four step-grandchildren, Don Sheldon III, Kalynn Sheldon, Breanna Sanford, Lyndsay Lombari; two step-great grandchildren, Ava Gadreault and Grace Gadreault and two sisters, Dianna Walsh and Maria Murphy. </p><p>His funeral will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by interment with military honors in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.&nbsp; Visiting hours Wednesday, 4:00-7:00 p.m.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate) in his memory would be appreciated.&nbsp; Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com </p>
